Silver Flex Membrane Switches
The majority of membrane switch designs utilize silver flex constructions. Silver Flex membrane switch panels utilize screenprinted conductive inks printed on flexible polyester layers separated by an adhesive spacer. These membrane keypads are often the most cost-effective solution for most designs.
PCB Membrane Switches
The PCB Switch construction utilizes a printed circuit board (PCB) which can serve a dual purpose in your membrane switch design. With a PCB membrane switch, the PCB can serve as a rigid backer, and is also a very durable and reliable method to incorporate LED’s, resistors, LCD’s and other components.
Copper Flex Membrane Switches
The Copper Flex Membrane Switch constructions are ideal for smaller designs, where space is at a premium, or where the circuitry patterns are dense. Copper Flex membrane keypads utilize silver or copper layers which are laminated to a dielectric layer and etched away.
Rubber Keypad Membrane Switches
Silicone rubber keypads use compression-molded silicone rubber with conductive carbon pills or with non-conductive rubber actuators. They have exceptional resistance to extreme temperatures and aging.
Dynapic Piezo Membrane Switches
When your parts must withstand vandal-resistance, operator abuse, or harsh environments, our Dynapic Piezoelectric keypads are an excellent solution. By embedding discrete piezo elements in the switch construction, we can produce a vandal-resistant metal keypad with an aluminum or steel faceplate.

Backlighting Options
Technigraphics offers a variety of membrane switch backlighting options. Whether utilizing LED’s, fiber optic lamps, or electroluminescent lamps (EL lamps), we can advise you how to achieve the most cost-effective solution for your membrane switch design.
Capacitive Touch Membrane Switches
Capacitive buttons/sensors can be printed on a polyester film using conductive ink, or can be copper pads on a PCB. These sensors are connected to the Fast Touch™ IC. When a button is pressed, the IC measures the increase in capacitance and triggers a response.
